Casting call for “Perhaps Now a Gunfight”
Sunday, February 08, 2009
Pasquinade Films is casting our fifth feature project, a Western comedy that tells the story of the murder of beloved sheriff Hank Barker and how a group of unlikely heroes – an Indian, a washed-up deputy and an outlaw – come together to avenge Barker’s death, woo his widow and free the town from the clutches of a very bad man with very bad grammar. We are a local indie production company in the truest sense of the term. Our projects rely upon the talents of students or those with day jobs who are looking to build a resume. While the roles are unpaid, copy, credit and meals will be provided.
The roles to be filled are:
- Miss Sarah (female 30-40) Proprietor of the “Whiskey House… and Whores,” she’s a smart, sassy madam with a heart of gold and a soft spot for the washed-up deputy.
- Buffalo Stance (female 20-30) Beautiful, strong-willed Native America woman, who despite not speaking a word of English tames the heart of a mysterious gunslinger.
- R.J. (male 30-50) Scene-chewing sidekick and comic foil to “Tombstone” Barker.
- Young Hank Barker (male 7-10) Heroic Hank Barker in his formative years… long before he became sheriff.
- Young “Tombstone” Barker (male 7-10) Villainous “Tombstone” Barker in his formative years… minutes before he became a bad guy.
- Henchmen (males 30-50) Tombstone’s gang of outlaws.
- Saloon girls (females 20-30) Miss Sarah’s working girls.
