What is the Pasquinade?
The Pasquinade has been around for a while. Print versions of the magazine have been kicking around college campuses and coffee shops since the fall of 1995. The brainchild of a college journalism student with a bent for satire and a love of pop culture, we have featured everything from Jocelyn Elders' first post-DC interview to a review of the misunderstood horror film "The John Wayne Bobbitt Story."
In 1999, the Pasquinade cut its print production, focusing its energies on the Internet. Within a few short months our site had already gained media attention [including a mention on NPR] and had won an award as one of the World's Best Websites.
In 2003, the Pasquinade developed Pasquinade Films, which has produced three feature films and is in development with a sitcom pilot.
Who reads the Pasquinade?
Two words: well-educated and upwardly mobile. Ok, that was three. Here are 73 more... The Pasquinade specifically targets the college-age market, an increasingly affluent niche that has traditionally been hard to reach. The site's content is especially appealing to this segment because it is irreverent, cutting-edge, and smart. As this segment matures, enters the workplace and gains more disposable income, the Pasquinade will continue to be a favored entertainment resource. The Pasquinade's satire also appeals to older, wealthier professionals who find most Web-based humor too juvenile.
I like what I'm reading, but want to know a bit more.
